ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
A few dedicated men and women stepped out on faith and on the word of God. They were committed to praising our God as one body, one mind and one soul on one accord. These faithful believers journeyed to a place called "Shiloh". Shiloh was hidden in the backwoods of what is known today as Bellevue, LA. There they gathered weekly for prayer meeting. These spiritual gatherings continued until our forefathers and mothers were guided by the Holy Spirit to build a church building.

The St. John Baptist Church was organized under the spiritual leadership of the late Rev. Albert White in 1865. He was succeeded by the following Pastors: Rev. Bob Lawrence, Rev. Joe Farmer, Rev. Jim Edwards, Rev. R. B. Tinker, Rev. Walter Jones, Rev. L. H. Horton, Rev. John Durr, Rev. Isaiah White, Rev. Robert Steward, Rev. Daniel Williams, Rev. Boyd, Rev. L. J. Davis, Rev. L. E. Paige, Rev. H. W. Pope, Rev. Clarence Jones and Rev. Donald Bell. On September 30, 2012 the Rev. Larry W. Cain was installed as pastor.
For many years our church served as a school house for the community.
